A little about me ...

My practice is focused on providing personalized care for patients with hip and knee conditions. In patients who do not need joint replacement, I perform arthroscopic repair and biological joint resurfacing. In those with very advanced arthritis, I offer minimally invasive direct anterior approach total hip replacement and total hip resurfacing. For the knee, my emphasis in on the maintenance of joint motion and I perform knee replacements using the kinematic knee concept, which allows for faster recovery and the preservation of ligaments. I also spend some of my time doing research, giving lectures, and developing new techniques for joint preservation. My research looks at outcomes of hip arthroscopy and anterior and posterior hip replacements. I have served in various teaching capacities on the faculties of Harvard University, Stanford University, and the University of California at Davis. I have reviewed for The Lancet and other journals and been a visiting professor in the People's Republic of China. I hold several patents related to orthopedic surgery. I have published numerous original, peer reviewed papers.
