A little about me ...
I became a pioneer of laparoscopy urological surgery whilst still a surgical trainee in 1994 when I did the UK's first laparoscopic pyeloplasty in 1994. I went on to do the UK's first laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in 2000 and first laparoscopic radical cystectomy in 2001. Since then I have done more than 3,500 major laparoscopic urological procedures and have published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers, 9 book chapters and a book on laparoscopic urology. Most of my practice is devoted to laparoscopic urological surgery. I have operated, lectured and instructed on laparoscopic urology in Europe, Africa, America, Asia and Australasia. My current clinical research interests include surgery for high-risk prostate cancer and extended pelvic lymphadenectomy. Although my flying, diving and triathlon days are behind me I still run regularly and practice photography.
